Mermaid Flowers

Mermaids are found world-wide in art, myth and folklore.  She, like the Siren, calls, tempts, seduces men to give up their old world, transform and emerge into a new form with new knowledge and understanding. 

In Hans Christian Anderson's the “Little Mermaid,” she wears a crown of pearl lilies when she is finally of age to come up to the surface of the ocean to seek to understand her soul. These “mermaid flowers” serve to reflect and remind us that we, as humans are always seeking and searching for understanding of life's mysteries.
